Large (high Victorian) French twelve light chandelier c1890-1900

As far as we are aware, this chandelier is a unique survivor of its type. It is a very ornate solid brass chandelier made in France c1890-1900, believed to have originally been a gasolier.
The chandelier is of superb quality and has been fully restored to near original condition. There are six internal lights (inside the crystal basket) and six outlights on arms, with original cut and etched glass shades (one has an old repair where it has been broken on one side and glued back together). This does not show when positioned correctly. The crystal basket consists of six framed panels of six chains of crystals graduated down to the cast base plate and original hollow cut glass ball finial.
The main frame ring consists of cast mouldings with gradooning, blank cartouches, square panels and capped urns with laurel garlands, acanthus leaf arms, with further laurel garland mounts for each shade. Top coronet is decorated similarly with smaller blank cartouches, all of superb quality and in near original condition. The main frame ring is also dressed with a circle skirt of albert crystals behind an additional ring of laurel garlands.
This chandelier was bought from a country house sale in the late 1960s and remained disassembled
and unrestored until recently when it was repaired and fully restored.
Rewired and earthed to modern standards. Electrical fittings are 12 x brass BC lampholders.
Total weight = approx 65 lbs.
Dimensions are 37 inches wide (from o/s outlight to o/s outlight) and 27 inches from top of hanging ring to bottom of ball finial.
